Description: The Bamboo Cutter and his wife watch as Kaguya leaves for the Moon with the Buddha. Kaguya eventually reveals herself to be a celestial being, having been exiled to Earth for breaking the law. But this was actually her wish, as she desired to live a “human” life. Even so, after she makes a silent plea to the Moon to save her from a political marriage, she is forced to return to her rightful place on the Moon. Her memories of Earth, however, stay with her as she leaves her parents behind.
